The Difference Between Botox and Dermal Fillers

Botox is similar to dermal fillers in that they plump tissue in the face. Botox generally treats frown lines and wrinkles around the eyebrows. Where as, dermal fillers typically treat smile lines and creases, which are on the lower half of the face.

Juvederm, one of the most popular dermal fillers, features a synthetic collagen and is widely accepted as a means to treat the appearance of aging.

Botox, however, does so much more than smoothing wrinkles. Botox is used to treat:
• Severe underarm sweating,
• Cervical dystonia (a condition that causes muscular contractions in the neck),
• Blepharospasm (uncontrollable blinking), and
• Chronic migraines

So, which is better? That’s entirely up to your aesthetic goals, needs and preference!
